• Update and a Scare

  So I had a medical scare recently. As I told a friend I found a bump on one of my boys and had to face going to the doctor to get it checked out. 385 lbs, 6'1 man that is scared to go to the doctor for fear of what they would find. 

  The funny thing is all I could think about was the Spike tv campaign called "check in or check out". They were public annoucment spots that encourged men to go in and get checked if  they found and issues with there inner workings.

  I did go in and then they had me go to a specialist to have an ultrasound done. The doc took a look and thinks it is just scare tissue but would like me to comeback in 3 months to have it looked at again. The doc worked me over pretty good so my Dad and I had a good laugh as I was toying with asking the doc if he was going to take me out to dinner after all that

  Sorry if I offend but humor is one of my defense mechanizims. I just thank God I have supportive friends, co-workers, and family around . It doesn't make the situation easier but it does help to make it less scary. Especially when facing your own mortality.
