Not much to report. The new branch is up and running. We are still ironing out some of the rought spots but all in all it has been a pretty smooth process.

So I had a medical scare recently. As I told a friend I found a bump on one of my boys and had to face going to the doctor to get it checked out. 385 lbs, 6'1 man that is scared to go to the doctor for fear of what they would find. 

The funny thing is all I could think about was the Spike tv campaign called "check in or check out". They were public annoucment spots that encourged men to go in and get checked if  they found and issues with there inner workings.

I did go in and then they had me go to a specialist to have an ultrasound done. The doc took a look and thinks it is just scare tissue but would like me to comeback in 3 months to have it looked at again. The doc worked me over pretty good so my Dad and I had a good laugh as I was toying with asking the doc if he was going to take me out to dinner after all that

Sorry if I offend but humor is one of my defense mechanizims. I just thank God I have supportive friends, co-workers, and family around . It doesn't make the situation easier but it does help to make it less scary. Especially when facing your own mortality.

The Holidays were great. I got to hang out with family and friends and just relax for a few days which were greatly needed. The folks are doing well as is Gram B. We had Christmas dinner early this year and then on Christmas it was the folks, Gram B, and I at the house on Christmas day. We had a late morning and opened our socks after Mom picked Gram up from her place. We then moved to the living room to open packages. Everyone recieved very nice gifts and enoyed each package as they opened them. It is always fun to see what people get each other.

This was the first Chirstmas with out Gram W as she passed to the house of the lord this year. It is hard to believe she is gone and as forest gump would say " That's all I have to say about that"

New Years was spent online with friends playing Lord of the Rings online. I was supposed to travel down to Seattle but didn't feel quite up to it this year. Think traveling the pass to the folks was enough excitment for this holiday season. I have a picture of the front of my car for the travel over. I will get it posted when I get time.

I am back at work now and getting back into the swing of things for the new year. After some recent changes and people moving on I am the only original person left in my Department.  There are three new employees and a new Boss that I am working with now and we are in the process of getting the department ship-shape. In other words we are pretty busy.

If you don't play World of Warcraft it probably won't mean much to yah but it gives me a good laugh.

Well we are getting closer and closer to Christmas. Does it seem like it? Not to me at least at this point. The decorations are up, houses are well lit and festive,  and I am listening to Christmas music in my office but something is missing. That feeling of Holiday Cheer just doesn't show on peoples faces like I remember.

Have we become to busy? Have we forgotten the focus of the season? I challenge you to sit back and take  inventory of your life, your friends, and your blessings.

Personally I am truly blessed in so many ways it isn't even funny. Do I get down and tired. Yep! I am human and it is bound to happen. But when I truly sit back and look at what I have had and what I currently have I am truly amazed.

When I do get down or tired there is one place I go and that is to God in prayer and meditation. It works for me and helps me to focus on my blessings when I am struggling with life, work, etc.  Do I do this as often as I should? Heh, I wish I could say I did but I acutally forget sometimes and some little thing good or bad will bring me back on track.

So moral of the post - Count your blessings. If that doesn't work try this lyric from the song "Away in the manager: Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay Close by me forever and love me, I pray!"
